CS Specimens by County

This map displays the collections in CS by county. As you can see, we have a large number of specimens from Larimer county! One of the projects we are currently working on at the Herbarium is making distribution maps of all the plant species in Colorado. In order to fully understand the distribution of a species, however, we need collections from every corner of the state. We especially need more collections from counties with a small representation in the Herbarium. Counties which are represented the least are: Crowley (27), Kiowa (35), Arapahoe (50), Kit Carson (55), Adams and Montrose (57), Custer (61), and Phillips (68). If you are in any of these counties, please consider collecting a few specimens for CS! The Herbarium is always looking to increase collections from the western part of the state and the eastern plains as well.
